Dr. Dennis Keating Publishes Reviews in Journal of Urban Affairs

Dr. Dennis Keating, Emeritus Professor of Urban Studies and Law at the Levin College, recently authored book reviews featured in the Journal of Urban Affairs. Dr. Keating’s latest reviews include "Rights and the City: Problems, Progress, and Practice, by Sandeep Agrawal (ed.): Edmonton, Alberta, Canada, University of Alberta Press, 2022” and “The Ground Breaking: An American City and Its Search for Justice, by Scott Ellsworth; Violent Utopia: Dispossession and Black Restoration in Tulsa, by Jovan Scott Lewis,” both of which were published in May 2023.

Dr. Keating is a former Director of the Master of Urban Planning, Design, and Development (MUPDD) program. He formerly served as Chair of the Department of Urban Studies, Director of the Office of Student Services, Acting Director of several graduate programs, and Associate Dean and Acting Dean of the College of Urban Affairs. Dr. Keating has been President of the Housing and Built Environment Research Council of the International Sociological Association. He has taught courses on shrinking cities, housing, neighborhood development, urban planning, and land use law, as well as the Planning Capstone Studio, the undergraduate Senior Seminar, and Contemporary Urban Issues. He has published widely in these fields.
