ASSISTANT DIRECTOR OF ADMISSION, ACADEMIC LIAISON & COORDINATOR OF INTERNATIONAL RECRUITMENT AT URSULINE COLLEGE IN CLEVELAND, OH (HYBRID)

Ursuline College is a small private liberal arts college located 13 miles east of Cleveland in Pepper Pike, Ohio. Ursuline offers more than 20 undergraduate and 10 graduate programs. Ursuline’s student population, including undergraduate and graduate students, is 1,100. Although we primarily educate women, 9% of our undergraduate students are men. 40% of our undergraduate students are minority students. Nearly half of our students are the first in their families to go to college.

Salary range is about $38,000 - $41,000. Benefits include: hybrid work policy (up to 2 days work from home each week), paid vacation/personal time, retirement contributions, medical/vision/dental insurance, 100% paid maternal/parental/adoptive leave.

In addition to domestic first-year recruitment, this team member will oversee the two following areas for our department:

  1. Primary Academic/Faculty Liaison: oversee and develop individual promotion plans for academic programs in partnership with faculty and other admission staff, connect with faculty to discuss best recruitment practices, support content development with faculty, serve as primary point person on academic outcomes and communications.
  2. International Admission: support all undergraduate international students through the admission and immigration process, maintain SEVIS records and serve as a Designated School Official (DSO), liaise with the Office of Diversity to support currently enrolled international students, create official immigration documents (such as I-20s).

Overview: Interns will work closely with the director and academic advisors of the TRIO/Student Support Services to learn and gain experience assisting first-generation and/or low-income students. This position will require interns to acquire a basic understanding of all undergraduate programs within every college during the first-half of the term. The interns will also get the opportunity to review the manual and policies of begin a higher education advisor before they observation appointments led by TRIO's academic advisors. In addition, this internship will be project-based. TRIO will support interns to plan, create, market, and implement a project based on their interest related to higher education

CSU Teaching Assistant Internship

The intern will be involved and will be coached in aspects of teaching such as planning, teaching and assessment in an online (asynchronous) and/or face-to-face college class that has both undergraduate and graduate students.

A model of gradual release of responsibility will be adopted similar to student teaching/internship. The intern will observe, lead discussions, plan activities and will have the opportunity to plan, and teach a whole class session/module. Coaching and feedback will be provided. In addition, the intern will have the opportunity to co-plan and co-teach. Grading experience will also be provided specifically how to use rubrics and provide written feedback. Professional development and networking opportunities such as conferences, workshops and/or scholarships will be shared.
